Chickenshed invite young people aged 12-16 years to participate in a series of performing arts workshops over afternoons in June half-term leading to a presentation on Saturday, 5 June at 5pm prior to Chickenshed performance of ‘Crime of the Century’. The week’s timetable will be as follows with all workshops based at St John’s Church Hall.
The themes of the workshops are the themes of Chickenshed’s ground-breaking performance ‘Crime of the Century’ answering questions such as ‘What can young people do to change communities and counter gang related violence and bullying?’ ‘What would young people change in the communities and the world and how would they make these changes happen?’ Young people will explore and create ideas using Chickenshed’s inclusive performing arts workshop methods and techniques and will perform their contributions to Crime of the Century themes to an audience of parents/carers and friends in St John’s Church at 5pm on Saturday, 5 June 2010. Project participants will then be able to see Chickenshed’s ‘Crime of the Century’ in St John’s at 6:30pm. Individuals and groups welcome.
