At Shacklewell excellence in mathematics is accessible for all, and our pupils work hard to develop their knowledge, skills and the ability to practically apply their learning.
We follow the national curriculum which is implemented throughout the school within the Maths Mastery framework. Teachers work to support and guide their children through the crucial stages of mathematical development and differentiate lesson using a range of concrete, pictorial and abstract methods. Our children learn to talk mathematically, developing their vocabulary through daily Maths Meetings and talk tasks. Throughout the school children learn to use technology confidently to support and enhance their mathematics, broadening their skill set and understanding of the subject’s fascinating diversity.
