Bringing families together. Supporting our school. Creating opportunities for our children.

Shacklewell Families is the parent and carer association for Shacklewell Primary School. We work alongside the school to help build a welcoming, inclusive and connected community where children and families can thrive.

Every parent and carer at Shacklewell is automatically part of Shacklewell Families, and everyone is welcome to get involved.

What We Do

Throughout the school year, we organise events and activities that bring our community together, create memorable experiences for our children and raise additional funds to support the school.

Our much-loved events include the Christmas Fair, Summer Fair and Halloween Fright Night, alongside cake sales, raffles and other seasonal and community activities.

The money raised through Shacklewell Families helps provide additional resources, activities and opportunities that enrich school life and directly benefit our children.

But Shacklewell Families is about more than fundraising. It is also about building connections between families, strengthening our school community and creating opportunities for parents and carers to play an active part in school life.

We've got lots planned for the first term and would love to see as many Shacklewell families as possible getting involved.

Have an Idea for How We Could Support the School?

Shacklewell Families raises money for our children – and we want our school community to have a say in how that money is used.

If you are a member of staff, parent or carer and have an idea for something that would benefit pupils or the wider Shacklewell school community, you can submit a request for Shacklewell Families to consider funding.

This could include resources, equipment, activities, experiences or improvements that would positively contribute to school life.

All requests will be considered by the Shacklewell Families team, taking into account the benefit to the school community, available funds and our wider funding priorities.

We Need You!

Could You Help Us Run Shacklewell Families?

Shacklewell Families is organised by parent volunteers, and we need more parents and carers to join the team on a more regular basis.

Putting on events such as Fright Night, the Christmas Fair and Summer Fair takes a lot of behind-the-scenes organisation throughout the year – from planning activities and contacting suppliers to organising volunteers, fundraising and helping things run smoothly on the day.

We're looking for parents and carers who would be willing to become more permanently involved in the Shacklewell Families team and share some of the year-round organising.

You don't need previous PTA experience.

You don't need to know everyone.

And you don't need to do everything.

We're looking for people who are enthusiastic about our school community and can contribute some time, ideas or practical support throughout the year.

The more people we have involved, the more sustainable Shacklewell Families becomes – and the more we can do for our children.

Even if you're not ready to join the organising team permanently, we'd still love to hear from parents and carers who can occasionally volunteer at events.

Everyone Is Part of Shacklewell Families

Every Shacklewell parent and carer is automatically part of our community.

You can get involved by volunteering at an event, helping with planning, running a stall, contributing a skill, suggesting an idea, supporting our fundraising or simply coming along with your family and taking part.

You don't need to make a big commitment to make a difference.

Whether you can give us an hour, help at one event or join the team throughout the year, every contribution helps.
