We were so excited to celebrate British Science Week 2024! The theme this year was Time and we were asking big questions, such as how long would it take to walk around the world? and how many times will our heart beat in a lifetime? 

To celebrate, all students from the 2-year-olds up to Year 6 took Wednesday afternoon off timetable to delve into their science experiments. Shacklewell Scientists took part in a very wet experiment where we pierced sharp pencils through bags of water to find out what would happen to the polymers keeping the bag secure. In addition, Key Stage One had a very special parent visitor who works in medical research and Year 5 had a virtual visit from the scientists at Imperial College. A very successful (and often messy!) Science Week was had by all.
