    Marvellous Medics in Year 2

In Year 2 we have begun our new history topic- Marvellous Medics.

We are learning about Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole, as well as the birth of the NHS.

To get us feeling excited about medical history, Dr Cameron from Homerton Hospital came in to speak to us. We learnt all about what it's like to be a medic. We even had a go with his stethoscope and blood pressure band!

He was very impressed by our knowledge of medicine and hygiene in the 1800s. Linking our science and history skills, we did an investigation to find out how soap repels bacteria - we were amazed with the results!
